DeLorean Green Box

A custom electronic board I designed (Fishino/PIC32, with WiFi, GPS/RTC and current sensors) to modernise and monitor the DeLorean's electrical system.

Features

The Green Box is designed for owners who want to preserve the car's vintage character while keeping its most important parameters constantly under control.

The DeLorean Green Box displays the car's live parameters on a compact monitor and records them — together with GPS telemetry — for in-depth analysis. Every parameter can be logged to a MicroSD card.

Externally, the OLED display fits in place of the original EOM clock and resembles an '80s liquid-crystal clock, yet a single button is enough to move through the device menus. The unit can be conveniently installed in the relay compartment or the ECU compartment.

What the monitor can display

  • DMC DeLorean motor car logo
  • Vintage-style liquid-crystal clock with GPS synchronisation
  • Day of the week, month and year
  • Vehicle speed (km/h or mph)
  • Altitude, longitude and latitude (GPS)
  • Ambient temperature (°C or °F) and relative humidity
  • Frequency valve duty cycle and status
  • Lambda (oxygen) sensor voltage
  • Battery voltage
  • Coolant temperature (°C or °F)
  • Fuel control (accumulator) pressure (bar or psi)
  • Fuel pump current (or cooling-fan current)
  • Control pressure vs. ambient temperature (WUR graph)
  • MicroSD data logger
  • GPS track exported to MicroSD (Google-compatible XML/KML)
  • Local time / GMT setting

The Green Box is delivered fully tested and complete with all the sensors required for installation.
